Protein Evolutionary Rates.
Unit-00 is focused on predicting a key evolutionary biology ratio known as dN/dS using Amino Acid (AA) sequences and tertiary protein structures.
Predictive Target
dN/dS determines how a protein changes over time based on changes to the gene expressing it.
The unit therefore treats sequence and structure as linked evidence for evolutionary rate behavior.

Operational Status
Unit-00 is currently the only active unit in the SPKSB registry.
The working expectation is that unit progress contributes directly to the organization-wide paper or preprint cadence.
