About

The Special Provision for Kinetic Systems Biology (SPKSB) is an independent research provision focused on biological kinetics, theory and mathematics.

Its role is to advance careful scientific work, open methods and sustained observation of dynamic biological systems.

Mission

SPKSB studies biology as a system that changes in time, with mathematics central to explanation and prediction.

It also develops open, low-cost observation tools that can be reused beyond a single study.

Structure

Operational work is organised across six wings: TSIU, ASIU, SKBE, OSIU, ECSU and DSIU.

Public project detail is currently published for TSIU and ASIU. The remaining wings publish their purpose. See the Projects page.

Governance

Decisions are expected to follow scientific priorities, remain consistent and remain auditable.

Further governance detail will be published here as procedures are formalised.

Ethics and open science

SPKSB applies ethical standards to biological work, data handling and collaboration.

Where practicable, tools, protocols and data are shared openly.
