BOBBER
BOBBER is an ASIU project for low-cost, continuous observation of aquatic environments, including live microscopy and microbial ecosystems.
BOBBER covers the hardware platform. Project Protozoopalooza is the associated public observation concept. The earlier project name SCOOBERT is retired.
Team
Lead / architect. Dhruva Gadiparthi designs and leads BOBBER, and is the architect of Project Protozoopalooza.
Primary engineers. Hari Maiyya and Bhavesh Senthil Kumar are the primary engineers for BOBBER.
Platform
BOBBER is designed as reusable hardware for ongoing aquatic observation, including live microscopy and extended data collection.
It sits under ASIU, which develops physical systems, instruments, automation, robotics and hardware.
Project Protozoopalooza
Project Protozoopalooza is a public platform concept for live-streamed microscopic ecosystems and a microbial observation record. Architecture is led by Dhruva Gadiparthi.
Its purpose is to make freshwater microorganisms observable at scale and to retain observations over time.
Status
Hardware development for BOBBER is in progress. Project Protozoopalooza remains a longer-term public platform concept.
Build notes, protocols and data will be published here as they become available.
